What do you think the age for consent should be

21.  The human brain and nervous system are not full developed until age 23.  That includes maturity.  That's why I think firearm ownership in the US should be 21.

Here in the states it's eighteen. I think that is a good age. Let the children develop. Conversely..Men have been wrongly incarcerated for having sex with young girls that trapped them.

It's a tough question because so many that are even in the 20-21 range are very immature. Of course, back when I was in my 20s, a 17 or 18 year old didn't seem so young. I guess it's all about perspective. I guess if there has to be a set number, I would likely say 17.

I understand the my body, my choice approach. And if you are ready, you are ready. But what worries me if someone thinks he or she is ready, but has been persuaded to think that. Especially young minds can be influenced more easily. I think 18 should be the best. A bit older and a bit more time to just explore your own body before moving on to others.

I really like the above answer. Just because a young person has reached puberty and their body is outgrowing their actual maturity doesn't make them ready to demonstrate good life choices. I say 18.

For marriage, it might as well be for the same as for having sex and for keeping things more in line with whatever laws that are on the books.
However I guess in some circles it might seem better to have them pre-maritally fucked a lot, rather than allowing them to marry and they both come with a certain amount of consquences, over and above the norm, for the younger set.
