A little long, but puberty is one of my soapbox topics! : Puberty affects all of us, but precocious, or early onset, puberty affects a much smaller number, and often runs in families. Yes, it did,  from both but I can't say it was particularly unwelcome. It was an unexpected bonus of my early puberty. I handled it all happy; another girl in the same position may have found that very difficult.

Early puberty affected my Mum in a similar way to me when she was my age and we were concerned that it might be the same with my daughter.  As it is, it was still reasonably early with her, but clinically didn't meet the criteria to be called precocious puberty.
