Croatia was such a great song. The best of Q1. No clue why some made it through (Ireland? Really?). Look forward to Q2 tonight. Our Dutch song grew on me. Still think the verses are trash and the song is a messy mash up. And fuck that blue bird. Ruined it for him. Will get to the finals for sure though.

QuoteJoost Klein back in NL after Eurovision disqualification; Damaged a camera, reports say

Joost Klein is back in the Netherlands after getting disqualified from the Eurovision Song Contest over an incident with a camerawoman. He arrived at Lelystad Airport on a private plane at around 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, RTL Nieuws reports.

A source told the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that Klein behaved very aggressively towards the camerawoman after his performance in the semi-final on Thursday. The source said the woman was left with a seriously damaged camera and was very upset. According to the newspaper, several people witnessed the incident.

Gonna be frank as a dutchie. I thought his semi final performance was soo bad. I didn't put him through. The audience loved it though. But the singing was bad and the staging terrible.

However this story of him damaging the camera sounds a lot more logical then the lady going to the police for a "threathing movement". We will know more in the future for sure, but I think the DQ is justified if the current story is correct. Even if she wasn't allowed to film, the final performance was so important for him. Then behave.

Apart from Joost Klein, too bad Croatia didn't win. The really had the best song. But can live with Switzerland. Good song, great performance.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — The Netherlands' contestant in the Eurovision Song Contest who was dramatically expelled from the competition hours before the grand finale will likely be charged for making illegal threats, Swedish police said Monday.

Joost Klein had failed to perform at two dress rehearsals on Friday and the organizer, the European Broadcasting Union said that police were investigating a complaint by "a female member of the production crew" at the competition in the Swedish city of Malmo.

Dutch artist and Eurovision 2024 entrant Joost Klein is daring to dream big. And his dreams have come true now that he's representing his country in Malmö this year. His song "Europapa" is breaking all domestic records: he managed to accumulate the most Spotify streams in one day of any song ever in the Netherlands. This is a huge achievement.

Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad reports that "Europapa" received a total of 1,216,921 Spotify streams within a 24-hour period.
With that, Joost managed to break the previous record held by Duncan Laurence's "Arcade". In 2019, Duncan set an all-time record the day after he won the contest — the first win for the Netherlands in forty-four years.

The official music video counts almost four million views. As a result, it can easily be said that Joost Klein has been enjoying one of the most successful Eurovision premieres this year. Currently, on the official Eurovision channel, "Europapa" is, by a large margin, the most viewed track of this year's contest.
