Spammers

We have had a few spammers register in the last few days, just to let you know theses idiots (with a tiny penis) have been BANNED, this does not mean I can keep them out, it means it will be more work for them to set up a new IP / EMail / Etc. and re-register.
I am here just about every day so any SPAM posts are quickly deleted.

I will keep a eye on any new members and any I think are SPAMMERS will be BANNED.

Our spamming problem has increased, I have acctivated a few more safeguards in registration, but its hard to keep them out, their posts ARE easy to delete, but of course I am not always here to delete them when they come in, their spam maybe visible for hours before I can delete it all, but whenever spam is posted you can be sure its gone within 24 hours (if I am not here for a few days it will remain longer)

I suppose we should take it as a complement that spammers are now targeting us, if it gets worse our tech department may have some ideas or a spam killer moderator will have to be found.

I hva cranked the spam filter for emails up to 11. I'll check if there is anything else I can do.

This however will not get rid of spam posts from registered users.

An automatic spam killer moderator will be VERY hard to implement as it could easily target legitimate posts.

Sandra: Are there any user "class" for moderator? If someone is willing to be a moderator, they could ease your burden by pruning away unwanted posts.

I can make someone a moderator and give them extra powers, so they can delete spam if I am not here.

At the moment I can delete all spam and delete spammer accounts (but they just come back the next day)

Lets see what the next few days brings now I have made it more difficult for registration.

I will look for a moderator if it gets too much to handle, I thought you would not have the time, RL can be so busy.
