Stripper 'raped' man at buck's night


A court's been told a stripper accused of raping a man at a buck's night told him it was "just a joke", after he complained about being violated by a sex toy.

The alleged victim told the Victorian County Court that he he urged stripper Linda Maree Naggs not to put the pink strap-on dildo into his anus and was shocked when she did.

"I was pretty upset at that stage," he said.

"I could feel something was there."

40-year-old Naggs is accused of raping the alleged victim.

He told the court he scuffled with Naggs and told her to leave after the incident.

"She said it was just a joke, just a joke.

"I knew that there was something wrong down there."

The man said he went to the toilet and returned with a bloody tissue that he showed to Naggs.

He said when he asked for his money back, the stripper threatened to call in bikies.

Earlier in the case, the jury was told to keep their sympathy, emotion or bias out of their minds at the trial.

Linda Maree Naggs has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Naggs' barrister has suggested the man placed himself in close proximity to the dildo for a reason.

The man allegedly asked Naggs not go near his anus with the dildo, and she reportedly said she wouldn't.

The court's heard the man then complained to police later that day while a medical examination showed a small abrasion below is anal verge.

Medical examiners believe the abrasion was "most likely caused by blunt trauma."

Fairfax reports Naggs is a working mother and a professional dancer of 13 years.

Why is it a bad idea to use petroleum jelly as lube?

An international body of botanists voted Thursday to rename more than 200 species of plants, fungi, and algae whose scientific names include variations of the word "caffra," an Arabic word for "infidel" that is used as a racial slur against Black people.

The move by the International Botanical Congress, agreed to at a meeting in Madrid, marks the first time that researchers have voted to eliminate offensive species names.
The measure passed with 351 researchers voting in favor and 205 opposed.

Going forward, names with variations of "caffra" will instead use variations of "afr," a nod to Africa. For instance, the coast coral tree, Erythrina caffra, will hereafter be known as Erythrina affra.

Botanists also agreed to create a special committee to review new species names and reject those seen as derogatory, such as those that honor despots or enslavers.
The committee will only look at species named after 2026 and will not, to the disappointment of some researchers, review existing names.

Plant names are only a part of the taxonomic controversy, however.
Naming animals after racists, fascists and other controversial figures cause just as many headaches as those posed by plants, say scientists.
Examples include a brown, eyeless beetle which has been named after Adolf Hitler.

Nor is Anophthalmus hitleri alone.
Many other species' names recall individuals that offend, such as the moth Hypopta mussolinii.

Now we will never know if Rwanada scheme would have offered another outlet.  Its been scrapped and now 120,000 illegal migrants will be given status to remain, with the expectation they will be dispersed across the country.

The idea that the new goverment will solve this by 'going after the gangs' is frankly for the birds.

The only way to stop the explosion of illegal crossings is to 1) leave the European Court of Human Rights 2) proceed to toe back any boats crossing, for any that make it, deport back to point of origin.  The clear message has to be; legal entry through the etablished channels and criteria is the only way you will ever be given legal satus to remain.

Once that is the case, the gangs that earn 2-3 million euros a week from people smuggling will be out of business.

The National Crime Agency is working with firms including X, Meta, YouTube and TikTok to tackle gangs targeting migrants online.

People smugglers offering a 100% safety guarantee and a competition to win €500 are among almost 12,000 adverts enticing migrants to use their services that have been taken down from social media.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) has stepped up efforts to disrupt the organised gangs using online platforms to recruit migrants to cross the Channel on small boats.

A plan to understand how criminals exploit victims desperate to come to the UK was launched in December 2021 with internet giants including X, TikTok, YouTube and Meta - the owner of Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

About 3,300 posts, pages or accounts were removed or suspended by April 2023, while a blitz over the last year has seen almost 9,000 taken down - a total of almost 12,000 by the end of June.

One advert featuring the image of a speedboat's two outboard motors says in Albanian: "We take people to the UK by speedboat. It is a done deal within 45 minutes.

"The crossing is 100% guaranteed (safe). Do not waste [this opportunity]. Soon we will be ready [to depart]. Write privately."
