Ugga, What part of the world are you in?  I'm in the states. There are plenty of piercing artist here.
I love my Jacob's ladder. My wife is use to the feel. I have had no complaints from our playmates either. They are in my foreskin and it didn't hurt. Just a lite pinch.

I live in the northern part of Norway. Nature and climate is like the southern part of Alaska (wet and cold).

There are more citizents in New York than citizens of Norway. My part of the country have around 500k citizens spread over long distances.

I live in the largest city in northern Norway, but we don't have any dedicated piercing studios. I'll check out some of the tattoo shops, but several states on their homepage that they don't do any "intimate" piercings.

You can absolutely get a male intimate piercing in Northern Norway, though studio options are much more spread out compared to the south.

Ugga, The point is to find a professionally trained piercer. Interview them. Let them show you their work. And above all, ask about sanitation of their equipment cleanliness, and follow their aftercare instructions. My Jacob ladder piercing was nearly painless. It was pinch feeling. The first one right under my glans was the slightly uncomfortable. They pierce and install the barbell in one smooth application. I laid back on the table and she marked the spots for proper location and in less than a minute they're done. They know how to place them for erections as seen in my pictures. Note: You won't be erect during the piercing. Aftercare is very important. Refrain from sex with others for about 2 weeks and use a condom to avoid cross contamination of body fluids. After a month you are all healed. Always check and keep your barbell shaft clean. I love my piercing.
