Why do guys pretend to be girls on line, what on earth is the reason? what do they gain?

only a guess... maybe it's the only way they can get ANY interaction.   Given all the techno-wizardry available at our fingertips,  it truly can be a sad world we live in.   

Another reason could be criminal intent-  fraud, entrapment, blackmail, etc.  It happens. 

Many reasons.

But cross-dressing is not pretending, it's a fetish. One that I enjoy watching and masturbating to. The guys who dress are guys and not pretending.

Some guys are transitioning.

And some guys just like to be treated like girls.

But be wary of those with bad intent. They're the bad guys.

There's a ton out there who do it. There are even real women online who lie about who they really are. I mean they are women but deceiving about what they say (know from personal experience).

I'm gonna be honest. I have done this online a couple of times. Let me explain.

When I was younger, I used to go on omegle and sites like that and just be me, a guy. And the only thing that happened is a skip after the mention your a guy. Grew tired of it so much so I mentioned I'm a girl once and the conversation continued. And not just a bit of sex chat, but good conversations. Did it quite a few times and really enjoyed it. It did feel weird though. I'm basically catfishing.

So this thread made me think back to that time again and I just ventured on omegle to the unmoderated text section for an hour. I first tried being me for an half an hour and just saying M means an automatic skip, or talking to a spam bot. Only had one guy saying he was looking for a girl and then skipped. But then I said F. And after one spambot I got a guy and it was genuinely a nice conversation. So nice I felt guilty pretending I'm someone I was not at the end. And just normal topics, work, were we where from, difference between our countries, of course a little bit of sex talk were we talked about porn we liked while we masturbate. And then back to my favorite drink. The conversation lasted for about an half hour before I ended it nicely. Thanked him for a nice conversation and wished him a good day.

I felt weird again though. But it is quite creative. I love writing so it's fun thinking of a different persona for yourself with a backstory, mixing it up with real stuff about me. Said I was from a different country and all of the sudden had to look up a local beer brand, haha. The girl I pretended to be actually appeared to be me after reading back the conversation. It also did feel quite nice too have just a good conversation too with someone you don't know. I guess it's easier for women to do that since there are so many guys on there. Or maybe I just got lucky again and meeting a nice guy on the first try.

biology.... God's cruel joke on us guys.   Although I have never done what you have done,  I completely understand where you're coming from.    And the flip-side,  the guy you were talking to was probably very happy, satisfied, and had a bit of an ego-boost.   

It is a perfect illustration of how males and females are different---- in a visceral way, to our core,  which flies in the face of the woke bullshit narrative we are being forced to accept.   At least here in the USA.    For fear of being banned, I will stop now.

I don't think a guy wearing girl's underwear is the same as pretending to be a girl... 

I do completely get what you are saying, so please don't think I'm arguing.    I thought the question was more pointed at online fakery.
