Google will purge older accounts in a bid to improve security for millions of current Gmail users

If you haven't used your account in the last two years, Google could delete it
Data will be purged from Gmail, Google Photos, Google Calendar, and more
Google has offered advice to block your account from being removed

Haven't logged into your Google account for a while? Your account could be deleted by Google as part of an ongoing purge to protect its users' data.

Google confirmed plans to remove inactive accounts in a blog post back in May, but it will only begin to delete data starting from December 2023. The Californian internet giant is taking a phased approach, starting with Google accounts that were created and never used again. That probably means your account is safe for now.

But as Google begins to ramp up its process in the coming days and weeks, it will remove photos, videos, emails, and other data belonging to a swathe of older accounts. That includes personal data from Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Meet, Google Calendar, and Google Photos.

Accounts that haven't been accessed within the last two years will be earmarked for deletion.

If you've received an email warning about an impending deletion, you can log in to your account to reactivate it

So, as long as you've logged into all of your accounts with Google and Gmail since the beginning of last year, you won't need to fear any data loss in the upcoming purge.

Ongoing subscriptions, like monthly payments for cloud storage via Google One, will also be considered activity by Google and will guarantee your account avoids the chop.

something which baffles me is that after many decades of "no real physical threat" to their nation, how people choose to sacrifice their national identity and common culture.   The last we saw of it in the US was 9/11... and it lasted only a very short time.   The simple fact is we're not all the same.

Graff said the coverup could be two-fold, including both the governments own secret developments of technology and what the government is sensing and detecting in and around US airspace.

Users of online porn sites will have to upload their ID to prove they are over 18 under new Ofcom guidance

Porn websites will have to ensure users are over 18 by checking their ID, asking their bank or mobile providers to vouch for them or using technology that can estimate their age from images.

The watchdog Ofcom has today set out guidance on how it expects adult websites to protect young people from sexually explicit content under the Online Safety Act.

On average, children are aged just 13 when they first encounter hardcore porn online. The watchdog said it would not accept 'weaker' age checks, such as allowing users to self-declare their age or simply add disclaimers or warnings to sexually explicit material.

A survey found the majority of Britons are supportive of introducing tougher measures – but half said they were worried about handing over their personal and private information.

Ofcom said all age assurance methods were subject to the UK's privacy laws and were overseen by the Information Commissioner's Office. Hardcore porn can easily be accessed with just a click of a button,  shock#

Britons are eating fewer vegetables than at any time in the last 50 years, putting health at risk against the background of spiralling prices.

Analysis of government data suggests many low income households are being priced out of eating a healthy diet.

The figures come on the back of reports that vegetable prices are rising ahead of Christmas.

Is it just me or is pornography getting harder to find on the Internet?

Recently using the browser DuckDuckGo I entered 'gay twinks porn' and got this-

Other browsers seem to be closing doors too.  think#
